Van Adventure Gear started for one simple reason — we were tired of buying camping and van life gear that looked great online but fell apart in real life.
So we decided to test it ourselves.
Who We Are
We’re UK-based van travellers, weekend campers, and fishing addicts who spend more time outdoors than indoors.
Most trips are simple: throw the gear in the van, head for the coast, a loch, a river, or the hills, and stay off-grid for a few days. No fancy setups — just practical kit that works.
After too many broken cookers, noisy power stations, and “waterproof” gear that clearly wasn’t… we started properly testing what we buy.
Why This Site Exists
There are loads of gear websites out there — but most just repeat specs or copy Amazon descriptions.
That’s not helpful when you’re halfway through a trip and something fails.
We focus on:
- Real-world testing (not lab specs)

We use gear the way most people actually do — on weekend trips, road adventures, and short off-grid stays around the UK.
That means:
- Running fridges overnight
- Charging laptops and cameras
- Cooking outside in wind and rain
- Living with the gear day-to-day
If something is annoying, noisy, heavy, or awkward — we’ll say so.
